IBPS Clerk Exam Pattern
IBPS Clerk Selection Process the recruitment process of IBPS Clerk occurs in two phases:
1. Preliminary Examination
2. Mains Examination
Both these papers follow the online method of conducting the written examination. The structure of the exam is as follow:
The Preliminary Examination of IBPS Clerk is an online exam to test a candidate’s aptitude, intellect and English. There are 3 sections in total and therefore the candidate must clear the cutoff of every section to proceed to the mains examination. Candidates are required to solve the question paper within the time slot of 20 minutes for each section. The overall mark of the paper is 100 and therefore the cutoff is decided by IBPS every year on the basis of the difficulty of the examination.

The Mains Examination of IBPS Clerk consists of 190 questions that must be completed within a time slot of 160 minutes. This is the pattern of Mains question paper:

Both Preliminary Exam and Mains Exam will be bilingual, i.e. both in English and in Hindi.
Negative Marking for Wrong Answers: There is a negative marking for wrong answers marked in both prelims and mains exam. A wrong answer to an objective question awarded negative one-fourth of the total mark assigned to that question.
Merit List will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the Mains Examination. Prelims is only for qualifying in nature. The main thing to notice here is that there’s no interview process required for the choice of candidate after the mains exam. 100% weightage is given to the results of mains exam result.
IBPS Clerk Syllabus
The IBPS Clerk Prelims Exam consists of three sections-Reasoning Ability, English Language and Quantitative Aptitude. In Addition to this, Mains will have one more section called General Awareness which includes questions from financial awareness.

Seating Arrangements, Puzzles, Inequalities, Syllogism, Input-Output, Data Sufficiency, Blood Relations, Order and Ranking, Alphanumeric Series, Distance, and Direction, Verbal Reasoning
English Language
Cloze Test, Reading Comprehension, Spotting Errors, Sentence Improvement, Sentence Correction, Para Jumbles, Fill in the Blanks, Para/Sentence Completion
Quantitative Aptitude
Number Series, Data Interpretation, Simplification/ Approximation, Quadratic Equation, Data Sufficiency, Mensuration, Average, Profit and Loss, Ratio and Proportion, Work, Time, and Energy, Time and Distance, Probability, Relations, Simple and Compound Interest, Permutation and Combination
Apart from these common subjects asked for all the posts, candidates are required to have Professional Knowledge as well, which can be tested in the mains part of the exam.
General Awareness
Current Affairs, Banking Awareness, GK Updates, Currencies, Important Places, Books and Authors, Awards, Headquarters, Prime Minister Schemes, Important Days
Computer Aptitude
Basics of Hardware and software, Windows operating system basics, Internet terms and services, Basic Functionalities of MS Office ( MS-word, MS-Excel, MS-PowerPoint), History of Computers, Networking, and communication, Database basics, Basics of Hacking, Security Tools and Viruses.
